今回は最近語学学校で習ったイディオムをご紹介しようと思います。
- learn it by heart
意味：暗記する
例文：Akira gave his speech without notes. He had learned it by heart.
- grin and bear it
意味：（不愉快、嫌なことを）我慢する
例文：I hate going to the dentist, but I know I have to grin and bera it.
- nail it
意味：上手くいく、成功する
例文：Jane really nailed it with her joke. The audience loved her.
- know it inside out
意味：とても詳しい
例文：She loves modern art. She kvows it inside out.
- know it like the back of my hand
意味：とても詳しい
例文：I can show you aruond my city. I know it like the back of my hand.
- in luck
意味：運がいい、ツイている
例文：You're in luck. We have one dress left in your size.
- out of luck
意味：不運、ツイていない
例文：I'm afraid you're out of luck. The last train has just left the station.
